We have many exciting Winter Celebrations coming up over the last two weeks of school!

Winter Wonderland Open House Celebration: We invite our families to Bayside’s Winter Wonderland Open house celebration on Thursday December 14 from 5:45-7:45 PM. We hope you will join us for fun and festive winter activities & crafts in classrooms and throughout the school. To help us manage the number of people in the school, please plan to attend during the following times, according to first letter of your last name:

A-K 5:45-6:40 PM

L-Z 6:50-7:45 PM

Winter Performances: We are excited to invite parents to join us for caroling and sing-along as well as grade team performances during the last week of classes before Winter Break. On their day, each grade group will perform a song and lead a song for the sing-along. We are hopeful that by scheduling the performances close to the beginning and end of the school day, after drop-off and before pick-up, many parents will be able to attend. Come prepared to be entertained and to participate! Here is the schedule for when each grade is performing:

Monday December 18: 1:45-2:15 PM Grade 3

Tuesday December 19: 8:15-8:45 AM Grade 1, 1:45-2:15 PM Grade 4

Wednesday December 20: 8:15-8:45 AM Grade 2, 1:45-2:15 PM Grade 5

Thursday December 21: 8:15-8:45 AM Kindergarten, 1:45-2:15 PM Kindergarten

Doors will open at 8:00 AM for the morning and 1:30 PM for the afternoon.

Magic of Christmas: Throughout the month of December, Bayside school will be collecting donations for The Magic of Christmas!  This charitable initiative is being organized by Ms. Gartner’s and Ms. Gannon’s classes and is, of course, optional for families to participate.

Every Christmas Eve, volunteers load up Calgary Transit buses and deliver gifts and Christmas cheer into the homes and hearts of those who need it most.  The Magic of Christmas visits Calgarians of all ages, from newborns to grandparents.  All gift donations that arrive must be new, unused, and unwrapped.  We will be accepting donations at the school until December 20th.
