We take great pride in keeping a tidy school; both inside and out. We ask all our students to be good citizens by putting garbage and recycling where it belongs, and helping to keep our classrooms and playground clean.

Also, a reminder that smoking is not permitted on CBE property. Parents and family members may not smoke anywhere outside of the school. This includes sidewalks. Your cooperation is both appreciated and expected.

Playground Rules & Expectations

Please take a moment to review these with your child(ren):

  • If it looks unsafe, we will ask you to stop
  • Rocks and snow stay on the ground
  • Stay inside school boundaries at all times
  • All students can play at the playground

We know that families sometimes wish to bring your younger children to visit the park. Please keep in mind that the structure is age appropriate for children ages 5-12. We ask that parents try to avoid visiting the park during school hours with toddlers, particularly during the busy lunch time from 11:00-12:25. Please note that classes use the structure throughout the day and you may wish to save your family visit for after school hours.

In the mornings, before school, we are not able to provide supervision for the playground as our staff is in classrooms greeting students arriving during soft start from 7:50-8:00 AM, and supervising and supporting student drop off and School Safety patrols. Please remind your child to come into the school when they arrive. We promise to give them opportunities during the day to play! After school, all students are expected to go directly home and check in with parents and/ or caregivers.

Use of School Equipment, Open Spaces & Play Areas

Students are expected to use school and recreational equipment appropriately. Students are expected to play safe games that will not potentially endanger themselves or others. Students are expected to respect the rights of participants in organized games and not to disrupt the activity.

No Dogs Allowed

The City of Calgary bylaw 23M89 forbids dogs from entering school grounds.
