Upcoming Spirit Days at Bayside:

January 27, Dress as your favourite book character day: To celebrate Family Literacy week, we are inviting students and staff to dress as your favourite book character on Monday January 27!

January 30, Jersey Day! One of our rewards for collecting so much food for the Veterans food bank was to have a Jersey Day Spirit Day! Wear your favourite team jersey, your Bayside swag, or your team colours:)

February 12, Hilarious Hair Day: Students, staff, and volunteers are invited to express your creativity with a hilarious hairdo! This is the second spirit day our school earned through our generosity towards the Veterans' Food Bank.

Valentines Day (Feb. 12): Since February 14 is a non-instructional day, Families are welcome to send valentines to school on Wednesday February 12 but are not required to do so. Our classes will be emphasizing kindness and friendship and the focus will be on student learning and belonging. The specific activities will be at the teacher’s discretion.

Some general guidelines to ensure our students have a positive experience:

-          If you choose to send Valentines to school, please send enough cards for each child in the class. Teachers will let you know how many students to plan for.

-          Please consider addressing Valentines “To my friend”, rather than specific names. This allows for much more efficient and manageable handing out of the cards, especially for our younger students. Teachers will not send class lists home.

-          As on a regular day, please send a healthy snack for your child. We will not be having class parties with shared treats.

-          If you would like to include a small treat in your Valentines, please consider sending a non-food treat such as fun erasers, pencils, stickers, etc. Candy treats will be sent home with students at the end of the day to be eaten at home.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

February 26, Pink Shirt Day: More information to come.
