Bayside October 27 Update

Happy Friday Bayside Families!

Thank you to our many volunteers who have been helping with numerous things over the past couple of weeks. From field trips to the Zoo and Ralph Klein Park, to Photo Day, to planning for our upcoming Book fair, we appreciate the support our parents provide to allow all students to have the best educational experience possible. Thank you also to the parents who have taken the time to go through the volunteer clearance process. I have approved many new volunteers! Coming up this week, we are still in need of at least one more volunteer on Monday October 30 to go to Ralph Klein Park with Ms. MacKenzie’s class. If you are able to join them, please contact Ms. MacKenzie directly: cnmackenzie@cbe.ab.ca.

Reminders & Updates:

Donations Request: We are requesting donations of children’s pants, sizes 4-6, for both boys and girls. Please drop off new or gently used pants at the Bayside office. Thank you in advance!

Clubs: Visit our Clubs Page for updates.

Remembrance Day: Remembrance Day will be recognised at CBE schools on November 8, 2023 at 10:30 AM, as this is our last day with students prior to the fall break (November 9-14). Unfortunately, in order to allow all students to attend this important assembly, we are not able to accommodate parents due to limited gym capacity. Bayside School will be recognizing a moment of silence just before the grade 1 & 2 lunch (10:58-11:00AM) so please be aware that students who go home for lunch may leave the school a few minutes late that day (no more than 5 minutes).

Halloween: Check out our News Story from October 20 for information about Halloween at Bayside.

Outdoor Equipment: We are excited to introduce new equipment for outdoor play at recess and lunch this week. Using funds from our lunchroom activity fees, we have purchased new equipment for our students to play with outdoors. The equipment is colour-coded by grade to support our students in taking ownership for looking after the equipment and ensuring it is brought inside every day. Thank you to Ms. Cassan for ordering and organizing the new equipment. We are excited to put it to use!
