Happy Friday Bayside!
Our Grade 3 team hosted a thoughtful and inspiring Orange Shirt Day assembly on Tuesday and it was a privilege to come together as a school community to reflect and honor the message “every child matters”. Thank you to Ms. McCune and our grade 3 teaching team for their work in organizing the assembly and providing the opportunity for our grade 3 students to share their learning and beautiful voices. It was also wonderful to be able to welcome our grade 3 parents to the assemblies and we appreciate you taking the time to join us. I am looking forward to the rest of our grade teams sharing in future assemblies through the year.
REMINDERS & UPDATES:
Picture Day is Coming
Thursday October 15 is Picture Day at Bayside School and students in Kindergarten-grade 5 will have their photos taken throughout the day. Thank you to the parents who have signed up to help us with logistics on that day. Students who are absent will have an opportunity for retakes on
News from the Gym
We will be spending much of the month of October outside for physical education. Please ensure your child is dressed for the elements. As we know, 8:00am fall weather can feel very different than 2:00pm and your child needs to be prepared for both! Thank you for your support and understanding.
Update on Sound Kreations Residency
Due to unforeseen circumstances we have adjusted the plan for our artist residency with Sound Kreations. Students in Kindergarten to grade 5 will be learning a new form of self-expression: Latin, Hip Hop, Combo Dance! We look forward to welcoming Keston Ross to Bayside school starting next week and learning some new moves!
Keston has been dancing for the last eight years, exploring a vibrant mix of styles including Krump, Latin, Bollywood, and Hip Hop. With ten years of experience coaching and working with kids in a variety of activities, he knows exactly how to create a space where students feel confident, energized, and ready to move. Keston brings a warm, encouraging teaching style to every class. He believes in the power of positive reinforcement and loves helping students discover their own creativity through movement. Whether he’s breaking down a funky hip hop combo or guiding a class through big expressive shapes from his Krump background, Keston leads with joy, patience, and serious enthusiasm. Above all, he wants every student to walk away feeling proud of themselves and excited about what they can create. With Keston in the room, learning is always fun, always creative, and always full of heart.
Room 3 C Update:
Parents of students in room 3 C will have received a message from me yesterday regarding Ms. Mask's leave. We will be welcoming Ms. Lila Dick (Ms.D) to Bayside to teach Ms. Mask's class until her anticipated return at the end of October. Our grade 3 team will be supporting Ms. D with planning to ensure a smooth transition and continuity for the students. Thank you to Mrs. Heisler for supporting the class for the month of September.
