Happy Friday Bayside!
Our Director, Ann Ard, and Superintendent, Jen Turner, visited Bayside this week. It was a great opportunity to take them on a tour to see our beautiful school and give them a glimpse into the excellent learning taking place in classrooms. It was picture day and, with the help of our amazing parent volunteers, things went very smoothly. Students were excited to talk about and share their work and I felt really proud of our school community. Director visits occur throughout the year and are an important touchstone in terms of ensuring we are on track with our school development plan and also that our school is well resourced and staff and students are receiving the supports they need.
REMINDERS & UPDATES:
Halloween Fun: Friday October 30 will be a fun day at Bayside! Please review our Halloween guidelines to ensure everyone has a safe and fun day.
Remembrance Day: Our grade 4 team will be hosting the Remembrance Day assemblies on November 10th. As this will be their learning celebration assembly, we invite grade 4 parents to join us at either 8:45 AM (doors open at 8:30) or at 1:45 PM (Doors open at 1:30). Both assemblies will be the same with different classes attending due to gym capacity. Grade 4 parents are welcome to choose either time according to your availability.
On Remembrance day we will also hold a school-wide moment of silence just before 11:00 AM. Please be aware that students who normally go home for lunch at that time may be slightly delayed in leaving the school (perhaps by 5 minutes).
