Happy New Year Bayside!
It was wonderful to be back with our students this week after Winter Break. I hope that families were able to enjoy time together and that people are feeling refreshed and re-energized.
For educators, New Years in January is always an interesting time… In some ways, we are excited to embrace a “fresh start” and engage in reflection, goal setting, and new projects. In other ways, January is actually closer to mid-way through our school calendar and is near the end of our first reporting cycle. This means we are also wrapping up the first semester and teachers are engaging in assessment to prepare report cards, based on the learning that has occurred to this point. This year, parents will be able to view their students’ report cards beginning February 24, 2026. Parents can find more information regarding Assessment and reporting and how to view your child’s report card on the CBE website.
REMINDERS AND UPDATES:
Fees: Throughout the school year, fees are updated in parents’ MyCBE accounts. In addition to central fees such as Lunch Supervision, Student Supplies, and transportation, we also add school-based fees for various activities such as field trips or special in-school activities. Please check your MyCBE account regularly to pay any outstanding fees. If for any reason you are unable to pay a fee, please reach out to the school.
Save the Date- Swimming! We have arranged for swimming lessons to take place at the Seton YMCA for students in grades 1-3. Swimming lessons will be in the first two weeks of June (June 1-4 and June 8-11). Fees will be posted in MyCBE accounts soon. We will let families know when the fee is posted as it is necessary for us to collect ahead of time in order to pay the deposit for the pool. We are excited to be able to offer this opportunity to our students again this year.
Bayside Clubs: In addition to leadership opportunities such as Safety Patrols and Techsperts, we have some exciting club opportunities coming up at Bayside for grade 4 and 5 students. Check out Bayside’s Clubs page for updates.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2026-27 School Year: Beginning Jan. 12, 2026, registration opens for kindergarten, as well as for new Grade 1–12 students, for the 2026–2027 school year.
Please be aware: Registration is not first-come, first-served.
Children are eligible for kindergarten in September 2026 if they turn five years old on or before Dec. 31, 2026.
To register your child for school, you must create a SchoolEngage account. Once an account is created, you will receive confirmation and can register your child.
