June 26 Update
Happy last day of school Bayside!
And that’s a wrap! We had a lovely farewell assembly with all of our students today. Our grade 5s performed, Ms. McCune made a terrific slide show of photos from the year, and we were able to have one more special moment together as we sang two goodbye songs as a school community. The summer will fly by and before we know it, we’ll be back at school excited about the new school year!
Hopefully your child has taken home all of their things! If they are missing something, we will be here tomorrow, June 27th, from 8AM-1:00 PM.
Reminders and Updates:
Staff Goodbyes: We are saying goodbye to a few of our staff this year. Ms. Ravneet Singh, Ms. Kelly Moore and Ms. Louise Robinson will all be moving to new CBE schools next year. Ms. Lauren Ng will be moving to another province. Ms. Joanne Hahn will be returning to the substitute roster for next school year. We want to express our sincere appreciation for their work with students, parents, and staff at Bayside. We wish them all the best in their new school communities.
We are also saying goodbye (or perhaps “see you later”) to two of our wonderful Education Assistants: Ms. Kukumina Sahoo and Ms. Christie Kennedy were both filling in on temporary contract this year and will be returning to the substitute roster. We hope to see them both again soon! Ms. Irene Yi has decided to resign from the Calgary Board of Education. We are working with CBE HR to find another amazing EA.
Kindergarten Staggered Entry: Families who have registered for Kindergarten at Bayside school will have received an email regarding your day and time for Kindergarten Staggered Entry this week. If you have registered, and did not receive an email, please let us know by calling the office or emailing bayside@cbe.ab.ca. A reminder will be sent to families at the end of August, once our staff has returned to school.
2025-26 Bayside Staff: I am pleased to share our Bayside School Staff roster for the 2025-26 school year! We anticipate continued registrations through the summer as well as some additional students being called back to Mahogany school in the fall. For this reason, it is necessary for us to remain flexible in our planning. I will share the names of our staff thus far and the grades they are planning to teach next year. In August, I will have an update for families with any new staff or changes.

School Council & BSFA Update:
As the school year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for the time, energy, heart and dedication of our teachers, administrators and support staff! Thank you for all you do, today and every day!
We would like to send a HUGE thank you to all our parent (and non-parent) volunteers who have worked tirelessly to support all our School Trips, Swim Lessons, Dances, books fairs, Healthy Hunger, Snack Shack, Treat Days (Kona Ice and Pancake Breakfast), Graduations and Sports Day events! It is ONLY with the unwavering support of all of YOU that we are able to provide these wonderful initiatives to our Bayside Family.
A big thank you to our AMAZING Parent Council & Fundraising team that works so hard behind the scenes to dream up, plan and execute these wonderful events!
But we reserve the BIGGEST thank you to our wonderful, phenomenal, astronomical, out of this galaxy Bayside students! You are the heart and soul of our school and make it a better place every day!
