Happy last day of school Bayside!
And that’s a wrap! We had a lovely farewell assembly with all of our students today. Mrs. McCune and Mrs. Sanderson made a terrific slide show of photos from the year, we had wonderful grade 5 MCs lead us through, and we were able to have some more special moments together as we sang two goodbye songs as a school community. I was so impressed with our students' respectful audience manners, even with the excitement of the last day! Our assembly ended with the grade 5 students parading out of the gym so that we could say our last goodbyes.
The summer will fly by and before we know it, we’ll be back at school, excited about the new school year!
Hopefully your child has taken home all of their things! If they are missing something, we will be here Monday June 29th 8AM-3PM and Tuesday June 30th from 8AM-1:00 PM.
REMINDERS AND UPDATES:
Staff Goodbyes: We are saying goodbye to a few of our staff this year. Ms. Jennifer Secord will be moving to Lakeshore school next year (so you might continue to see her around:), Ms. Lisa Sorensen and Ms. Stephanie Knowler will be returning to the substitute roster, and Mr. Jesse Corriveau will all be moving on to a strategist role with the CBE EAL team where he will have the opportunity to share his expertise and provide support to a wider community of schools. We want to express our sincere appreciation for their work with students, parents, and staff at Bayside. You have all made a significant and positive impact on our students and on our community. We wish you all the best in your next adventures.
Welcoming New Staff: We are pleased to welcome many new staff to Bayside School for the 2026-27 school year. We are fortunate to have received funding, both to support classroom complexity and through the Alberta government’s class size initiative. You will notice quite a few new names in our staff roster below and we are excited to welcome many new members to our team who will support our students in their learning.
Kindergarten Staggered Entry: Families who have registered for Kindergarten at Bayside school will have received an email regarding your day and time for Kindergarten Staggered Entry by Monday next week. If you have registered, and did not receive an email by then, please let us know by calling the office or emailing bayside@cbe.ab.ca. A reminder will be sent to families at the end of August, once our staff has returned to school.
2026-27 Bayside Staff: I am pleased to share our Bayside School Staff roster for the 2026-27 school year! We anticipate continued registrations and transfers through the summer months as well as some additional students being called back to Mahogany school in the fall. For this reason, we will continue to be flexible in our planning. I will share the names of our staff thus far and the grades they are planning to teach next year. In August, I will have an update for families with any new staff or changes.

Teachers will email families by August 27th by the end of the day to introduce themselves, welcome your child to their class, and to provide important information about the first day of school.
