Happy Friday Bayside!
I had the wonderful opportunity this month to celebrate graduations for both of my children! My daughter is graduating high school and my son graduated from University with his Undergraduate degree. As a teacher, it was particularly special for me to be able to see students and their families at the end of their educational journey. It was such a joyful occasion! In Elementary school, our students have many years ahead of them and we work so hard to help them to grow and learn and develop the skills they will need to be successful. Each year, we help them to transition to the next grade, the next class, or the next school and I was reminded of how important it is for us to prepare students to manage the changes that will naturally occur over the course of their lifetimes. Even as my children have reached important milestones, saying goodbye to their respective schools, they are also so excited about what lies ahead. As we enter June, I hope that we will be able to shepherd Bayside students through the goodbyes, and inspire them to embrace the challenges and adventures ahead. It’s going to be a busy month… Let’s make some amazing memories together!
Reminders and Updates:
Wheel Week June 2-6: Wheel Week is Rolling In! 🛴 Join us in celebrating Wheel Week with SHAPE Alberta – a fun, week-long initiative encouraging students and families to get to school using active, safe transportation like biking, scootering, or walking!
From June 1st-6th, we’re promoting healthy habits, reducing traffic congestion, and building safe communities. Whether it’s a solo ride or a group walk, this is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and teach kids the importance of road safety and active living.
Let’s roll together – safely and smartly – for a healthier, happier journey to school!
Students are to wear helmets, and any other safety gear needed. Students should also bring locks to secure their rides. You may also lock up your bike along the fence that goes around the parking lot if the bike racks are full. No bike should be left unlocked.
As a part of Wheel Week, there will be a special park your ride in the gymnasium Thursday June 5th so if you can only ride one day, that’s the day to do it!
Transportation: Reminder to all families that you must register for Transportation by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the year and to avoid any bussing delays.
