Happy Wednesday Bayside!
It was a short week with many exciting learning opportunities. On Thursday and Friday, CBE teachers and support staff will be attending their respective conventions. Teachers’ Convention is an awesome opportunity for professional learning alongside colleagues, not only from our own school but teachers throughout the city of Calgary. It is always energizing and inspiring to connect with other educators and we look forward to bringing all we learn back to Bayside to share with our students.
REMINDERS & UPDATES:
Your Voice Matters: Parents of students in grade 4 at Bayside school should have received an invitation from Alberta Education (via email) to participate in the annual Assurance survey. The information gathered from the survey helps to shape our priorities in the School Development Plan. Grade 4 students and teachers will also participate in the survey. Report Cards: Report cards will be viewable in MyCBE Accounts beginning on Tuesday February 24. This report card is part of our ongoing communication of student achievement and will summarize the learning that has taken place over the course of this reporting period. Helpful information about assessment and reporting is available on the CBE website.
Pink Shirt Day: Our grade 4 classes will be hosting our Pink Shirt Day Assemblies this year. “Official” Pink Shirt Day is February 25 but Bayside will be recognizing Pink Shirt Day on February 26 (we have a class on a field trip and we want everyone to participate). We invite our students and staff to wear pink on February 26 as a visible symbol to promote kindness, inclusion, and respect for others. Grade 4 parents will be invited to join us for one of the assemblies, either at 9:30 AM or 1:30 PM (the two assemblies will be identical). Click here for more information about Pink Shirt Day.
