Happy Friday Bayside!
Our teachers had the opportunity this afternoon to join Mahogany School Staff in some excellent professional development regarding the Science of Reading. The focus of our learning was around helping teachers to deepen their understanding of phonics and phonemic awareness instruction. This professional learning reinforced many ideas for Bayside teachers and also offered new resources and engaging activity ideas that were new to us. We were also able to explore assessment beyond spelling tests which connects with our School Development plan goal. We appreciate Mahogany school hosting us! It is always wonderful to connect with teachers in other schools and to build understanding together.
Updates and Reminders:
Hats on for Mental Health: May 8 is Hats on for Mental Health day at Bayside. It is an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health in schools. Students, staff, and visitors are invited to wear a hat to show their support. Students will be participating in learning around the importance of good mental health and ways to boost their mental health on a daily basis. We are looking forward to seeing everyone's creative head-wear:)

Teacher Appreciation Week: We are so grateful for our wonderful staff at Bayside and look forward to celebrating the incredible educators who make Bayside School shine bright!
From May 6th to May 10th, join us in honoring our outstanding teachers who go above and beyond every day to inspire, educate, and empower our students. Whether it's their unwavering dedication, their passion for teaching, or their commitment to fostering a nurturing learning environment, our teachers truly make a difference in the lives of our students.
Here's how you can show your appreciation:
🌟 Send a heartfelt note: Take a moment to express your gratitude to a teacher who has made a positive impact on you or your child's life. A simple thank-you can go a long way in brightening their day!
🌟 Share your stories: Have a memorable experience or a special moment with a teacher? Share your stories and reflections on social media using the hashtag #BaysideTeacherAppreciation. Let's spread the love and inspire others to celebrate our amazing educators!
