Happy Thursday Bayside Families!
Sending out the update one day early as Friday May 16 is a professional learning day. Our teachers will be here at Bayside playing with learning about many of our technology tools- robotics including Spheros, Ozobots, Talebots, & Beebots as well as Minecraft EDU and Lumio! Teachers will work in their teams to design tasks that incorporate the use of these technologies to help students achieve curricular outcomes in all areas in exciting and engaging ways.
Reminders and updates:
Fee Reminder: A number of field trips have recently occurred or are coming up in the near future. Please visit your MyCBE Account to pay any outstanding fees as new fees are uploaded through the year.
2025-26 Kindergarten Welcome: Kindergarten Welcome Packages were sent out to families today via School Messenger along with an invitation to our Welcome to Kindergarten evening on May 29. If you have registered your child for Kindergarten next year and did not receive a Welcome package email, please let us know bayside@cbe.ab.ca.
Preparing for next year: We continue to prepare for the 2025-26 school year. If your child is currently registered at Bayside in grades K-4, no action is required on your part and they will automatically be registered at Bayside for the next grade. Please let us know if your family is moving or if you plan to have your child attend a different school for the 2025-26 school year. Email bayside@cbe.ab.ca.
From the Learning Commons: We are nearing the end of library visits for another year. Students will visit one final time during the week of June 5. Leading up to this deadline, there will be a concentrated effort to ensure that students are returning books on a weekly basis. Returning books on time will allow Ms. Tverkutes to complete an inventory of our collection prior to summer break.
Books that are not returned by June 17 are assumed lost. The replacement cost of the book will be included on a student’s on-line account for payment. This also pertains to books damaged beyond repair. If the book is found after June 17, it can still be returned to the library and the fee will be removed. If the payment creates a hardship for your family, please contact either Darby McAsey or Vanessa Prestayko in the office (403.817.3436 or email bayside@cbe.ab.ca).

Annual General Meeting - The Bayside School Council held our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday May 13th, 2025 @6:00PM.
We have re-elected the following council members:

A HUGE thank you to this committed group of volunteers who work tirelessly to make Bayside a wonderful community for all!
We are a small but mighty group and we need your help. We have several positions that were not filled at the last meeting. We will be holding a by-election for the following roles:
General support - our back up volunteers who help where needed!
Volunteer Coordinator-someone who organizes the sign up genius forms to recruit volunteers!
Healthy Hunger coordinator- someone who organizes the Healthy Hunger lunches for the year!
Teacher appreciation coordinator- someone who organizes several teacher appreciation events per year to help celebrate our teachers!
Social media support- are you great with computers, but don’t want to commit to a huge role? This is a great opportunity to be a part of our group. You would help out our social media team for additional posting when she gets tired!

Summer's coming and its time to dust off those flip-flops and channel some summer vibes as we dance our way into the last month of the school year! And then… Schools out for the Summer! Bayside School Council and Fundraising Association is proud to announce a fun Summer Kick off Dance for our Students and school Community!
Date: Friday May 30th, 2025
Time: 6:00pm-7:15pm OR 7:30-8:45pm
Tickets: $5.00/per person. (All students MUST be accompanied by an adult). Children under the age of 2 are FREE.
