Happy Friday Bayside!

Our teachers are busy this afternoon working on report cards and IPPs as well as preparing for the next week and all of the exciting activities coming up over our final weeks before summer break. There is so much great work happening in all of our classes and we are grateful as we reflect on the growth that we have seen this year.

This time of year is so busy for families with sports and evening/weekend activities. There are late nights and early mornings and sometimes it seems like the days blend into one another. This is your reminder to take time for yourselves this weekend! We are all at our best you when we are re-charged. Enjoy the weather, get outside for some fresh air and sunshine and make sure you take care of yourselves. The next few weeks will be busy, and they will be amazing.

Updates and Reminders:

Attendance: A reminder to parents to please call or email the school if your child will be absent. 403-817-3436 or email bayside@cbe.ab.ca

Grade 5 Farewell: Our Grade 5 Farewell will take place on June 19 at 1:00-2:15 in the Bayside gym. Families will receive an invitation from your child’s teacher and we ask that you limit guests to a maximum of 4.

Sports Day: Bayside Sports Day is Friday June 20 from 8:00AM- 12:00 PM (our regular Friday early dismissal). This year we have a Calgary Stampede & Indigenous People’s Day theme, with midway western carnival type games, rodeo inspired events, farm animal water activities, our own version of the BMO Kidz Zone, and featuring Indigenous games, some of which you will find at Elbow River Camp during the Stampede. We need Volunteers to help make our day a success! All volunteers must have a current CBE volunteer clearance.

School Council and BSFA Updates:

Kona Ice Treat: Each year, the BSFA uses proceeds from Healthy Hunger to provide a special treat for Bayside students. This year, Kona Ice will be coming to visit on Thursday June 12 to bring their icy deliciousness to our students! Each of our students will receive a small shaved ice treat. Thank you to School Council and BSFA for this delightful treat!

Casino: Our Casino Fundraiser is just 2 days away on June 8 and 9! This is Bayside School’s biggest fundraiser for the next TWO YEARS — and we need YOU to help make it a success!

In just two days, we have the opportunity to raise over $80,000 — and every single dime goes directly back to our school and kids!
