Happy Friday Bayside!

What a memorable week it was at Bayside! Thank you to the many, many parent volunteers who helped make our Grade 5 Farewell and Sports Day both great successes.

The Grade 5 farewell was a blend of memories, kind thoughts, wisdom, and friendship. The speeches mirrored the care and fondness that staff have for their students at Bayside School. Parents organized a beautiful setting underscoring the next chapter. Food, photo backdrops, balloons and so much more made for a special experience for all.

Sports Day was a perfect combination of great weather, amazing parent volunteers, and lots of activities. The kids had a fun time and enjoyed the freezie treat (thank you School Council!).

Also, a special shout out to Mrs. Cassan for her work organizing Sports Day and to our grade 5 team and Mrs. McCune for planning the grade 5 celebration. The generous spirit and thoughtful planning you have shown in creating these important events for our students are so very appreciated.

As we move into the final week of the 2025-26 school year, we hope that you are able to take some time with your children to reminisce and celebrate all that we have learned and experienced together as a Bayside community.

REMINDERS & UPDATES:

Library Books: It's that time again! All school library books were due June 12th. Look under your beds, in the car, on your bookshelf and anywhere else you can think of to find Bayside library books. They stand out from your other books by having a label on the spine and a barcode on the back that begins with 3100000.....

Ms. T will be adding charges to MyCBE Accounts for missing books this week.

Thank you for all of your help rounding up these books so students can enjoy them again in the fall!

Fees and Forms: A reminder to parents to please check your MyCBE account for unpaid fees and any outstanding forms (Demographic forms must be updated annually).

Teddy Bear Picnic: We are excited to celebrate our kindergarten students as our school year comes to a close. We are hosting a kindergarten year end Teddy Bear Picnic on Wednesday, June 24th from 10:15 – 10:50 for our morning class and 1:45 - 2:15 for the afternoon class. Kindergarten parents, if you are able, please plan to join us outside the kindergarten doors. You are welcome to bring a blanket. The kindergarten students will receive a snack kindly donated by School Council and BSFA. We encourage you to find childcare for any younger siblings so that you can enjoy this special time with your kindergarten child. If you are planning to pick up your child afterwards and they typically attend after school care, please notify your child care providers.

Last Day of School: Thursday June 26 is the last day of school. It is an EARLY DISMISSAL day with dismissal at 12:00 PM.

Transportation Reminder: If you have not done so already, make sure to apply for yellow school bus service for the 2026-27 school year. Service levels and fees are outlined on the CBE website. Registration is available through your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how.)

Confirmed routes will be posted in MyCBE in August. Click here for more information

Lost and Found: Our Lost and Found is still overflowing and has been relocated right next to the office! Classes will be touring the lost and found for the last time this week to try to match students up with their belongings. Parents are encouraged to come check the lost and found as well… please just check in at the office and we are happy to have you take a look! Items remaining at the end of June will be donated to Good Will so we can have a fresh start in the fall.
