Happy Friday Bayside!

It is hard to believe we are already at the end of January! I have noticed the days getting longer and some of our sunrises and sunsets have been spectacular lately. We are still in the midst of winter but I find that more sunlight in the day can lift our spirits and be a reminder that warmer days are to come. The gardeners in our community might even be starting to think about and plan their gardens and it is almost time to start seedlings indoors. While springtime is a season of rapid growth and renewal, I like to keep in mind that many of our future ideas and plans are taking root right now, beneath the snow.

Updates and Reminders:

Safety at drop-off and pick-up: A reminder to parents not to drop-off or pick-up students in the staff parking lot. This is a safety concern, particularly with people backing out of spaces during a very busy time of day. Parking directly beside the school is very limited. We encourage families to park a short distance from the school and walk to meet your child at their dismissal door.

Kindness Month: Ms. Mask has created a beautiful Kindness bulletin board in our learning commons! Classes will be adding their acts of kindness to the board throughout the month of February. Please check out our School Spirit Page for information and guidelines regarding Valentines exchange on February 12.

Hilarious Hair Day: February 12 will be Hilarious Hair Day at Bayside:) Find out more about this and other School Spirit days on our School Spirit page.

Pink Shirt Day: Save the date! On February 26, our grade 1 students will be sharing their learning and leading our Pink Shirt Day assemblies. Parents of students in grade 1 will be welcome to join us at either the morning or afternoon assembly. Watch our Website and your Teachers’ messages for more details coming soon.

Snack Shack: The grade 5 team is going to be opening the Snack Shack on Friday February 7 for PM Kindergarten, grade 1 & 2 and on Friday February 21 for AM Kindergarten & grades 3, 4, & 5. Check out the Snack Shack News item on our Website for the details. Are you able to volunteer to help with the Snack Shack? Click Here to Sign Up!

Registration for 2025-26 School Year: Questions about registration for the next school year? Haven’t registered for Kindergarten yet? Questions about grade 6 and Lakeshore Lottery process? Please check out last week’s update.
