Happy Friday Bayside!
The weeks leading up to Winter Break are exciting, with many fun activities and events both at school and at home. They can also be over-stimulating, tiring, and sometimes stressful, depending on your circumstances. This year, Bayside staff and students are working on improving our ability to self-regulate as part of our School Development plan. This means we are aware of how we are feeling and that we learning what to do to help ourselves be calm and ready to learn. During announcements each week, classes are prompted to think about and practice a mindfulness strategy on Mindful Mondays. This week we watched a video and practiced our focus and listening skills. On Wednesday, our classes had a chance to practice yoga and movement with Prevail Yoga as another opportunity to build their self awareness and self regulation skills. As you head into an active and busy weekend, we hope you will take some time to be mindful and bring a little calm into your lives. Your children will be very happy to show you some strategies!
