The winter solstice, occurring this year on December 21st, marks the official start of the winter season and a time when daylight begins to lengthen again. It’s a perfect reminder to take the time to rest and rejuvenate, light is on its way.
This time of year holds different meanings and traditions for each of our families, and we deeply respect the diverse ways you celebrate. Whether you observe a specific holiday or simply take the time to pause and reflect, we hope that the upcoming break brings you moments of peace, joy, and connection with your loved ones.

Reminders and Updates:
Winter Break: A reminder that CBE Winter break is December 21-January 5 and the school will be closed. We look forward to welcoming students back on January 6, 2025.
Thank you to Parents: We would like to thank our parents for the delicious sweet treats this week and for attending the Winter Lights Assemblies. We are so appreciative of our supportive parent community!
Bus Zone: With our growing population, CBE transportation has added a second bus route for Bayside School. This means that our bus zone is very full with two large school buses, a small bus, and multiple daycare buses. Please remember to leave our bus zone free for the safety of everyone.
CBE Open Houses: January is a time when many schools host Open Houses, particularly schools with specialized programs and programs of choice (E.g. language programs, programs focused on science or the arts, etc.). Information is available on the CBE Website.
Kindergarten Registration for 2025-26 School Year: Online registration for Kindergarten and new grade 1-12 students for the 2025-26 school year opens on January 13, 2025. See details on the Website.
2025-26 School Calendar: The 2025-26 School Calendar has been approved and is now available on the CBE Website

Message from Natalie Peso, School Council Chair: I would just like to send a last message to bayside from the Council and BSFA, thanking everyone for a wonderful first half of the school year.
