Happy Thursday Bayside!
Our students enjoyed a special treat this week when we returned from spring break, thanks to a grant from the Canadian National Food Program. Calgary Co-op provided fruit trays for each classroom. Our students had the opportunity to try out different fruits they may not have tried before and classes talked about the importance of fruit and vegetables in a healthy diet. Bayside school was also able to add a variety of shelf stable foods from the “choose most often” category to our emergency snacks and pay for a refrigerator repair from earlier in the year. Parents can learn more about CBE’s nutrition guidelines here.
REMINDERS & UPDATES:
Fees: Parents are reminded to check your MyCBE accounts regularly for fees that are added through the year. We have many field trips and exciting in-school experiences coming up in the next few months and timely payment allows the school to ensure that invoices to our service providers are paid on time. Field trips are an important part of our students’ learning experience and no student will be denied the opportunity due to inability to pay. If a fee will cause a financial hardship for your family, please contact me djmcasey@cbe.ab.ca to discuss how we might support you.
Monday April 6: Monday April 6 is a regular school day for CBE students. A reminder to our Topp Kids families that Topp Kids will be closed on Monday. Please make sure you have connected with your child’s teacher to let them know what the plan for pick-up is that day.

Friday April 17- PM Kindergarten, grades 2 & 4

To ensure there is enough time for all classes to visit, the Snack Shack will be open to certain grades on certain days.
All sales will be cash only. Students will be limited to purchasing a maximum of 2 items and we ask that parents send a small amount of cash with your child (no more than $5) to ensure we are able to make change easily and also to minimize the risk of loss.
